I like the shiny/suede contrast on the shoe, and they feel great. When I put them on the first time, I found them not quite snug enough on my rather skinny foot, but I got half-sole inserts at my local shoe-repair place (for less than $5) and the man at the shop was able to slip those under the existing innersoles so now they are a perfect fit. I wear them with skirts for basic nice everyday shoes. Also, I am a square dancer and have worn them dancing twice. Very comfortable, and I have had compliments on them.

As other reviews had recommended, I ordered a half size smaller than my normal size. I received the shoe and it fit rather snuggly but since the material is leather, it has stretched to fit my foot. Very nice shoe.

I've purchased several pairs of the Clark's Mary Jane Malta and they are stylish and delightfully comfortable shoes. I've worn orthodics in tennis shoes for years and thought I would try these for dress occasions, but to my utter surprise the arch support is so excellent I can wear them every day. I am a high school math teacher and am on my feet for hours at a time. These shoes give me the support I need while being classy and dressy. Amazon had the best price ever. I saved at least $65.00 over the last online store that I purchased them at. Don't hesitate to buy them, they fit great and look spectacular.

As a the owner of many pairs of Clark shoes, I feel I can say some wonderful things about the Malta. I have a pair that I wore most of the winter, and I have another new pair put away for this fall! I love them. My daughter also has a pair that I got her for Christmas. This style and interpretation of the Mary Jane spans the decades. I look just as stylish - and am just as comfortable - as my daughter. It has a wonderful insole so no breaking in required. Lovely for the winter months ... no slipping on the these soles! And, let me say that the compliments never stop; I have come to expect them.
A great shoe, to say the least!
